Nick's surgery....
Yesterday Nicholas had some surgery done....he had his tonsils and adenoids removed and something called turbinate hypertrophy (sp) done on his nose. We were at the hospital at 715am and by 8am he was being wheeled in surgery and I was out in waiting room reading my newest book. (When my husband does the dishes) Thanks Leanne...anyways...by 835am, Dr. Dedio was out speaking with me letting me know he was done and all went well, his tonsils and adenoids were huge...so we should be expecting great results once all healed up. Coming out of the anesthesia for Nick was a bit bumpy, he started thrashing about and pulled his own IV out...had blood squirting everywhere....and than once we started to move him, he vomited...so it took us a bit to get moving, but that was ok. We made it home and snuggled on the couch---all afternoon....he has been eating very little, but drinking like a champ and they say that is the most important thing. So, it is now Friday, January 13th!....and we are snuggling in bed and watching the snow blow outside the window!...we have gotten some cold air and wind coming down from Canada, so glad to be on this side of the window!...

A New Year....
January 5, 2012....where has the time gone...sorry for not posting earlier....once our holidays were over, it was back to work and school straight away. It was a very "short" xmas holiday in many peoples eyes...but it is was it is....so I sit here on the couch..fire going downstairs and trying to stay warm...it has been very cold of late---winter is finally here. Mike has gone off to Tri-boro for monthly meeting and I sent the boys upstairs to put away there clothing and now they are playing music and cleaning!...what!?...I didn't tell them to clean, but I will not speak a word.
Had taken Nicholas to the doctor today....this was a re-schedule w/different doctor to get his surgery back online for next week. Nicholas is having his tonsils and adnoids removed and some basic surgery on his nose to open it up. The dr. said "if you want you can wait and see how he goes, or we can move ahead, as he could definately benefit from it"...we are moving forward....I truly am looking forward to NOT hearing him snore anymore or breath with his mouth open. He said the removal of the adenoids should really take care of that problem as they are a huge "cork" as they block the back of the nose and are a huge cause of snoring....we shall see...his surgery is set for January 12th...he will be out of school until January 23rd...Mike and I are both taking time off of work to stay home with him.....keep Nicholas in your thoughts on January 12th..or rather...5-7 days after that as that is when the scabs will really be bothering him.....
Hmmmm...what else is happening....Justin has been very sick lately..He started not feeling well on Xmas day and has been running fever on and off since then.....they drew blood today and are testing him for mono....he feels like crap and is very tired and achey....
All the Bodnar boys were down in Philadelphia last night for an outdoor ice hockey game....they did not get home until midnight and although they had a great time, we had some very tired boys this morning...including Big Mike!!!!...Mom had a nice night all to her self....watched a few epidsodes of McLeods Daughters..(thanks Leanne!).....
I am so glad all my Australian family enjoyed there Xmas gifts...glad to see everything fits! Looks like you all had a great time down at the coast...(jealous)
Well, Nicholas would like to snuggle...they are done cleaning and it is pj time....hope everyone is doing well!....Cheers!

Christmas tree shopping...
Sunday was a day to go out and get ourselves a Christmas tree!..it was a beautiful day, but a bit cool, hence the coats and hats!...we took a hayride out to the main field, but didn't find anything we liked, so back we came and walked to a closer field. Nick wanted to cut the tree down this year, and he did, with a little help from his brother!...You can't see it in the photo, but his Santa hat says "Naughty" on it...Michael (he doesn't have his on)...but his says "Nice"...everyone who saw them, said "how fitting"!...once completely decorated, will show you another photo!...
Trees...trees....and more trees.....

Happy Thanksgiving!!!
Yesterday was our Thankgiving Holiday, and it was a fantastic day....The morning began with breakfast down at Chris and Jen's house, where we had eggs, bacon, sausage, steak and potatoes!!...Tyler took Michael, Justin and Patrick to our annual football game between Northampton and Catasauqua...(we lost)...after that everyone converged onto our home where the kids all played in the backyard and we sat on the deck enjoying the beautiful sunshine...before long, the sun started to go down and it got cool, so inside we came to watch some more football before dinner was done....With the help of everyone, we had a huge spread....and very tasty too....it consisted of: Ham, turkey (done 2 ways) (baked and deep fried), homemade stuffing, green beans, pumpkin, corn, salad (done 2 ways), homemade crannberry sauce and rolls and gravy!...it was so very good and everyone was stuffed!...we cleaned up and made some coffee and than it was time for dessert..many items to choose from: pumpkin pie, pumpkin roll, banana cake, peanut butter pie, peacan pie and lemon kiffles...luckily we cut everything very small, so we could try lots of things....everyone headed home not too long after that, as we were full and tired. And some of us (Jen), were planning on hitting the shopping malls at midnite to partake in some of the fantastic deals they were offering for Black Friday....below you will see our day....(oh, and we did do video call with Leanne and Darbs and everyone got to say hello...)....it was almost like having you here...you just couldn't smell or taste anything....lol...
Our turkey prior to be dunked in the oil to be cooked....and to my Aussie friends, this is so very good...(luckily we only do this 1x a year) He too likes Coors and bourbon....
Steve and Mike just put Mr. Turkey in.....

Happy Halloween...
Yesterday was October 31 and Northampton had our trick or treat night. We headed down to Chris, Jen's and baby Chase's house. (as they are the only ones who actually live in town)....we not only had trick or treat, but we also celebrated Nick's birthday with the family. Now we did go out for a family birthday celebration last Tuesday---his actual birthday, but this was the only time to get together with extended family......so, we celebrated with pizza and cupcakes and of course candy!...it was a pretty strange trick or treat night as we still have snow on the ground. Don't know if that has ever happened before. Steve and Coletta are still out of power (since Saturday night)...due to the freak snowstorm that we had over the weekend. There are still 56,000 houses without power in our area....Steve and Coletta are pretty much done with not having power. Showering at the gym...at Chris and Jen's and just trying to stay warm with the fireplace. They are due to get power back on Friday!!!!! UGH!..hopefully they get it back before than...anyways....here are some photos from last night...a mix of birthday and trick or treat...(the birthday celebration photos to follow, didn't download yet).
