After Lent treat....

Here is L.Michael's ice cream treat...for going for so many days without ice cream, this is what he chose to have...(and yes, we love our ice cream)....

Easter Sunday

Here we are the Monday after Easter and I'm actually uploading and writing about something I just did yesterday!...can you believe it?...

It ended up being a fairly nice Easter Sunday...we have had tons of rain lately and we just wanted a nice day. We went to early, sunrise mass at church and the boys got a spot of fishing in before we even got together with the rest of the family. After our lunch of ham, potato salad, paska bread and halupki we went outside to enjoy the weather and to play some wiffle ball and tether ball. The sun kept peeking out from behind the clouds and when it was out, it was actually warm. So it wasn't all that bad. When we went to head home, we made a stop of King Kone (ice cream shop) and we all had a some ice cream...(we gave up ice cream for Lent, so we haven't had ice cream in quite some time)...Will post a photo of L.Michael's "cookie sundae"....all in all, it was a good day. The boys went back to school today, but Mom still had off...as did Aunt Jen-Jen and Aunt Coletta, so we went out for breakfast and did some baby shopping of things that she still needed...it was a good day....Will be sure to let you know when and what she has. Her due date is May 13!....

The kids and their fish....

This past weekend, the kids had their fishing contest at Tri-boro and they ALL wanted to win and they were ALL excited. It ended up being a beautiful spring day-perfect for the kids to be outside fishing....the day began very early for them as they are all old enough now to be up with dad and to help with the fish truck and help stock the fish in the canal. (I think Mike said they were up at 6am) The contest begins at 8am and goes till 12N. Once you catch a fish of significant size, you want to register the fish because if someone else has a fish of the same size, it goes off the earlier time. So..now that you know the rules this is how the morning went. The 4 cousins are on one side of the canal...and across the way-a blonde hair little girl about 5 years of age...She was catching fish after fish and BIG ones too!...definately contest worthy..well, anyone who knows us Bodnar's, you know there is a bit of competitiveness...so Eveylen had one...Patrick had one..Michael had one and than 2 and than 3 and than 4.....Nicholas had zero!....so he decides to switch places w/his brother and he catches a BIG one, but looses it...does NOT sit well with him...he is pissed and is very upset....and now the clock is ticking closer and closer to 12N...so now he switches to the other side of the canal...and he catches a fish..nothing to brag about, but at least he has caught one....than dad can see a BIG fish chasing his bait...and a few times, Nick almost has it and dad is JUMPING up and down because he knows how close it came...than all of a sudden...WHAMO..Nick cathes the HUGE fish with 3 minutes to go...it takes him about 2 1/2 minutes to reel it in and than once he does him and dad are running through the parking lot to reach the checkin stand in time...and luckily they do and Nick has caught a 20inch fish and comes in 2nd place..(there was another 20incher caught before him)...so here are some photos of this weekend....
